Finance Assistant

Bell & Bain is one of the oldest businesses in Glasgow and is one of the leading printers of books and journals in the United Kingdom. Bell & Bain has enjoyed significant growth over the past decade and, as a Group, are leaders across different areas of the printing industry, with a growing international reputation.

The Finance Department is integral to operations at Bell & Bain and due to our continuing growth, we are looking for candidates to join the team.

Suitable candidates should be confident working in a fast paced, process driven manufacturing environment.

Your main duties would include:

– Preparing and inputting data

– Invoicing

– Reconciling statements

– Dealing with supplier invoice/payment queries

– Credit control

– Assisting with month end processes

– Filing and other ad-hoc finance and admin tasks when required

Essential attributes:

– Great communication skills

– Proficient using Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and Outlook

– Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy

– Good levels of numeracy and literacy

Training is provided for all aspects of the job so that even if you are not experienced in the industry or this position, you will soon become a valued member of the Finance Team with a satisfying level of responsibility for an important and sizeable company.

Candidates will be expected to apply themselves in order to reach the high standards which exists within the department – and across the company as a whole. Candidates should be comfortable dealing with colleagues, customers and suppliers, as well as dealing with numbers on a daily basis. This position brings with it career stability and plenty opportunity for progression.

Experience for this position is desirable, although applicants with no direct experience in this field will certainly still be considered subject to other skills, experiences and/or qualifications they may have. Salary will be discussed based on experience/employment history. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week – and an early finish on a Friday!
